As Chief Executive Officer of The Butchart Gardens, Mr. Cowen helps lead a creative and diverse staff of over 400 in the delivery of a world-renowned horticultural experience. He is the Past President of Gardens BC and served for many years on the Canada Garden Council.
As a National Historic Site of Canada, The Butchart Gardens is a pre-eminent Edwardian display garden known for vibrant annual plantings, innovative seasonal displays, amazing coastal setting, and array of high-quality entertainment, shopping and dining options. Founded in 1904, The Gardens receives approximately one million visitors annually.
